Crossroads School transforms lives, renews hope and builds potential!
With a passionate Head of School, specialized teachers, a committed board of directors and an enthusiastic school community, Crossroads is poised to take an important step in its history: acquiring more land and constructing a new academic building.
Crossroads has almost all of the pieces in place for expansion. All that remains is to acquire an additional $1.8 million to complete the project. To date, over $3 million has been raised. Houston's foundation community has been exceedingly generous, as have 100 percent of the board of directors, faculty and staff who have participated.
The centerpiece of the effort to improve and enlarge the aging campus is the academic building, which is specifically designed to meet the learning needs of our students. This building will allow the original structures on Dolores Street to be demolished and enlarge the current play area. It will be built on the recently acquired adjoining land on Winsome Street, a safer and wider street with curbs and sidewalks. The learning centered two-story building will have 12 classrooms, an art room, a science room and a sensory integration room. It will also house a library, administrative offices and meeting rooms.
Current and future students, parents, faculty and staff will benefit tremendously by having the opportunity to learn, teach, work, and volunteer in a modern building which directly facilitates the transforming of lives, the renewing of hope and the building of potential. The new building will provide an environment that is geared to the needs of the entire Crossroads community.
The continuing success of the capital campaign and the resulting new academic building will be a tremendous achievement in the history of Crossroads School. The impact and transformation of children with learning differences will be truly significant and meaningful for the foreseeable future.
Please join us in our quest to meet the needs of our children. Walk with us throught the Doorway to the Future! For more information please contact Debi Mishael at 713-977-1221.
